What it is
SEO data comes from somewhere. Commercial APIs — DataForSEO, ValueSERP, Ahrefs — provide search volumes, rankings and backlinks, and they all charge. This capability is the seam that lets the platform use them without depending on them.
How it works
One interface, several implementations. Callers never branch on which provider is active, so swapping DataForSEO for ValueSERP is a configuration change rather than a code change.
| Provider | What it supplies |
|---|---|
| Synthetic | Deterministic generated data. No keys, no cost. The default. |
| DataForSEO | SERP results, search volume, backlink data. |
| ValueSERP | Live and historical SERP results. |
| Ahrefs | Backlink and authority metrics. |
The synthetic provider is not a toy. It is deterministic and shaped like real data, which means the whole platform — clustering, flux detection, forecasting, the simulator — works end to end with zero keys. That is what makes this evaluable before you commit to an API bill, and testable in CI.
What it does for your site
You only pay for data you actually use, and you can change your mind. Because the interface is stable, adding a provider is additive, and running with none is a supported configuration rather than a broken one.
It also means your keyword and ranking data is fetched by your instance, on your server. Nothing is sent to us.
Where the results go
Provider data feeds SERP flux, forecasting and backlink-based authority.
